Stain only looks as good as the wood underneath it.
Before any TWP goes on, the wood needs to be clean. Restore-A-Deck is the two-step kit Gemini makes for exactly that job.
Why a deck needs two steps
Step 1 - Cleaner. Pulls out dirt, mildew and the gray, sun-damaged fibers on the surface of weathered wood.
Step 2 - Brightener. Cleaners leave wood with a high pH, which can darken it. The brightener brings the pH back down and returns the wood to a lighter, natural tone, so the stain color comes out true.

Kit highlights
- Concentrated - each container mixes up to 5 gallons
- Works as prep for TWP or any other finish
- Brings gray, weathered wood back to its natural color
- Biodegradable and safe around plants and pets when used as directed
Old stain still on the deck?
If a previous film-forming finish is peeling, cleaning alone won't remove it. Gemini's Safe-Strip remover takes the old coating off first; follow it with the Restore-A-Deck cleaner and brightener, then stain with TWP 100 or, in VOC states, TWP 1500.
